Book Launch! @ 12:59 am

Current Mood: relieved relieved

Wow, it's been quite a week. The book launch was a whirlwind of emotion and amazingness. And guess what? The bookseller had to borrow some of my books because she sold out of hers. Crazy!

I had a ton of help from family who flew in just for the party. And so many friends showed up. There were even people I'd never met, like the village president (who incidentally is one funny dude).

I was so feeling the love!

Here are some pics:

Look at all the pretty books.

People actually bought some!

Bitchen cupcake cake my mom bought.

Look! People were really there. I still can't believe it.

I gave away a free "engagement" ring or pencil with every book.

Village President, Brian LeClercq and moi. All the local celebs were there. Okay, he's really the only local celeb. But he was there!

My writer peeps! I love these guys. I might have to steal one of those  baby girls though, because they are so adorable.

The insane and totally dope trinasotira  bestowed upon me the official "Book Launch Edward" who will make the rounds of every one of our friends as they publish. It's going to be a bigger tradition than Santa, yo.

And the next day, I dragged my tired ass to my very first bookstore signing, which luckily also included kspringer aka Kristina Springer (THE ESPRESSOLOGIST) and Kimberly Pauley (SUCKS TO BE ME) who made up for my zombie-like presence. The charming and lovely Kristen (with an E) aka Bookworming in the 21st Century kept us company while we lured people toward us with the promise of delicious chocolates and cookies.

I felt like a real live author. What a weekend!

And here's what I'm sure you've all been waiting for ever since this post.

Tenners Blog Tour @ 11:40 pm

Current Mood: excited excited

Before the last minutes of January tick away, join me in celebrating Anna Jarzab's hauntingly gorgeous debut, ALL UNQUIET THINGS, which came out this month.

Carly: She was sweet. Smart. Self-destructive. She knew the secrets of Brighton Day School’s most privileged students. Secrets that got her killed.

Neily: Dumped by Carly for a notorious bad boy, Neily didn’t answer the phone call she made before she died. If he had, maybe he could have helped her. Now he can’t get the image of her lifeless body out of his mind.

Audrey: She’s the reason Carly got tangled up with Brighton’s fast crowd in the first place, and now she regrets it—especially since she’s convinced the police have put the wrong person in jail. Audrey thinks the murderer is someone at Brighton, and she wants Neily to help her find out who it is.

As reluctant allies Neily and Audrey dig into their shared past with Carly, her involvement with Brighton’s dark goings-on comes to light. But figuring out how Carly and her killer fit into the twisted drama will force Audrey and Neily to face hard truths about themselves and the girl they couldn’t save.

Here's a little bit about Anna:

Anna Jarzab grew up entirely in the suburbs, first outside of Chicago and then in San Francisco’s East Bay area, where All Unquiet Things is set. She graduated from Santa Clara University, earned her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and currently lives in New York City. All Unquiet Things is her first novel.

Next on the tour, I want to direct you to the awesome book BLEEDING VIOLET by Dia Reeves which hit the shelves just a few weeks ago.

Love can be a dangerous thing….

Hanna simply wants to be loved. With a head plagued by hallucinations, a medicine cabinet full of pills, and a closet stuffed with frilly, violet dresses, Hanna’s tired of being the outcast, the weird girl, the freak. So she runs away to Portero, Texas in search of a new home.

But Portero is a stranger town than Hanna expects. As she tries to make a place for herself, she discovers dark secrets that would terrify any normal soul. Good thing for Hanna, she’s far from normal. As this crazy girl meets an even crazier town, only two things are certain: Anything can happen and no one is safe.

Here's a little bit about Dia:

Dia Reeves is a librarian and lives in a suburb of Dallas, TX. Her family, however, grew up in East Texas and has inspired her with many tales of the area. Bleeding Violet is her first novel.

Check out great interviews and guest posts featuring Dia over at:

Got any plans this Valentine's Day? How about a date with THE ESPRESSOLOGIST, STUPID CUPID, and A MATCH MADE IN HIGH SCHOOL? That's hot right? You could have all three of us, autographed and in your hands by Valentine's Day. And how about handmade Valentine's cards from all three authors? Hard to resist, I know. There may even be a little chocolate in there for you too if you play your cards right.

First you have to flirt with us. Just a little. Finish this poem, "Roses are red...", in the comments of this post or here or here, for one entry (up to three entries if you hit up all three of our blogs. No more than once at each blog though.) For an additional entry, tell your friends about this contest and add in the comments where you told them (one entry for each place you told them- blog, tweet, facebok etc.).

Come on, you know you want us! Win our love! You have until February 7th at midnight EST. We'll announce the winner on all three of our blogs February 8th. USA/Canada only please.
